If you thought the Defender could stand no more tweakery. You were evidently wrong.
“The upside is that Kahn has the best driving positions of any Defender I’ve ever driven,” says Top Gear’s Ollie Marriage on a recent test drive for Top Gear magazine.
So why is it that the Top Gear journalist has a soft spot for this car?
Well in his own words the Top Gear Journalist remarks: “I think it’s because no matter how much you do to a Defender, whether you give it a makeover, its character remains unaffected. It’s always noisy always harsh, always utilitarian.
“The quality of the fit and finish (of the Kahn Defender) is first rate. It really is. Every insert, panel or stitch and there are a lot of them - Including rear-passenger knee protectors. Steering wheel aside, the Defender mix works pretty well, adding luxury without seeming overly precious.
In short the Kahn Defender is rugged, costly and actually quite convincing. Like a Mercedes G-wagen, but more British.
